Our Experience

Welcome to another review at Apeldoornsche Vleeseters! Today I'm discussing a true classic. My real barbecue adventure started on a gas barbecue from Campingaz. While that worked fine for quick cooking, I soon missed that authentic taste of smoke and coals.

Why the Weber Go Anywhere?

Because I wanted that real fire and smoke flavor, I looked for a cheap but high-quality alternative to start with. The choice fell on the Weber Go Anywhere. As the name suggests, this device is small, compact, and incredibly easy to take with you. Whether you're in the backyard in Apeldoorn or playing a fanatical game of 'BBQ bingo' with friends in the park, this compact grill is the ideal companion.

From Standard to Personalized: My Modifications

I started with the standard version as you buy it in the store. That works very well right out of the box, but I soon found out that you can get even more out of it. To tailor the barbecue completely to my hand, I have purchased a number of indispensable modifications over time. Think of Bakelite knobs on the air slides, a split grill grate for easy row-reverse layout access, a heat shield (Heat Wall) for indirect grilling, a coal basket for better airflow, and of course the legendary Plancha.

Performance: Weekly Enjoyment

Once I had it set up and equipped with the right accessories, the barbecue went on weekly. Despite the compact size, I've grilled truly everything on it. From thick steaks that I first cook indirectly and then sear firmly over the coals, to simple sausages and vegetable skewers. It performs incredibly consistently and builds up impressive heat thanks to the smart air circulation.

THE VERDICT
